Flexible Pavement Reinforcement

Asphalt Interlayer Reinforcement

ROADWAYS  "FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT REINFORCEMENT"

Asphalt Paved Roadways

Owners, both public and private, are always looking for ways to save money. Optimizing aggregate and asphalt thickness by adding a layer of geogrid reinforcement is a great way to accomplish this goal.

The AASHTO 93 design methodology utilizes layer coefficients to indicate layer stiffness and structural contribution to the roadway system. When BaseLok geogrids are incorporated into the aggregate base, the lateral restraint performance mechanism creates a stiffer aggregate layer which increases the layer coefficient. A higher layer coefficient means less aggregate is needed to achieve the same structural number as an unreinforced section. Additionally, the designer can choose to reduce asphalt thickness instead of aggregate, or reduce both if the layer coefficient enhancement allows.

BaseLok geogrids and FabGrids are some of the strongest and stiffest products on the market today, providing great lateral restraint of aggregate particles. Our independent 3rd party accelerated pavement testing shows that BaseLok geogrids can outperform other top-of-the-line geogrids on the market. BaseLok geogrids and FabGrids have been used on numerous pavement reinforcement products. Visit BaseLokPro.com to design your BaseLok reinforced pavement today.
