Market Overview

Innovative Solutions for the Waste Management Industry

In the Waste Management sector, Baselok provides secure, regulatory-compliant geosynthetic solutions. We specialize in the stabilization of landfill cells, secure capping systems, and the construction of heavy-duty access roads for refuse collection vehicles, ensuring environmental safety. Our professional engineers specialize in designing challenging heavy haul roads for licensed landfills worldwide.

Landfill Cell Construction

Constructing new landfill cells requires absolute containment integrity. Baselok provides geogrids that reduce differential settlement and provide stable construction platforms for cell construction. This stable platform allows for the superior integrity of the geomembrane liners.

Variable & Weak Ground

Secure Capping Systems

When a landfill reaches capacity, secure closure is mandated by government agencies. We supply advanced geocomposites for drainage and geogrids for veneer stability on landfill closure sites.

Baselok Biaxial geogrid composites combine rigid, high strength geogrid with our in-house thermally bonded nonwoven geotextiles. In landfill closure capping, these geocomposites provide separation, multi-directional soil reinforcement, differential settlement mitigation, and filtration/drainage. This stabilizes the clay cap above the geomembrane, ensuring proper reinforcement.

Roads and Paved Areas

Heavy Haul Road Stabilization

Garbage trucks exert punishing, continuous wheel loads on landfill access roads. Baselok engineered haul roads reinforce these unpaved roads to withstand the most extreme traffic weights without deep rutting. Waste collection centers and landfills nationwide depend on the rigid high tensile performance of Baselok geogrids.

Our Engineering team has all of the tools at their finger tips with Baselok Pro Software to design reliable, all-weather access roads for waste disposal operations, minimizing vehicle wear and tear, and reducing haul road maintenance.

Pavement Maintenance

Leachate Collection

Managing landfill leachate is critical for environmental protection. The utilization of Biaxial geogrids to mitigate differential settlement and liner cracking is key to protecting this valuable infrastructure.

Without Biaxial geogrids, differential settlement may stretch the liner system past its designed failure point. A compacted clay liner can crack when its tensile strain exceeds just 0.5%. These cracks are problematic, in that they allow leachate to escape. BX geogrids provide a  "tension membrane" effect within the compacted clay, allowing the liner system to accommodate much larger strains.
